More or less epic than 2018?

Are you ready for the CrossFit Open 2019?!

At Bahia CrossFit, we’re gearing up for the first 2019 CrossFit Open WOD to be announced this Thursday night February 21.

Join us at 6pm in the Box to watch the live broadcast. Our 6pm class on Thursdays will be suspended during the open so we can watch the broadcast together. We explain the WOD during this time as well as showing correct technique, examples of no reps and we'll be able to answer all of your questions about the competition.

Let’s see if we can top last year’s Open competition when, after the 18.1, our Drop-In Couple Got Engaged!

We met Andrew an Ashly when they wanted to stop by for a drop-in class on their vacation here in Vallarta. They were getting away from the freezing cold weather in Minnesota and North Dakota and to complete the Open 18.1 WOD in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Seconds after completing the 18.1 WOD, Andrew got down on one knee and proposed - and she said YES!!!

Andrew said for the longest time he couldn’t think of a way to propose to Ashly. He wanted it to be in an extravagant and beautiful place, but at the same time very meaningful - and something they both had a passion for. They had been CrossFitting together for a while at CrossFit Fargo, so when she said she wanted to do the 18.1 together - he knew it was the perfect time and place!

Ashly says that she had no suspicion that it was coming right after the WOD! She said it was so perfect - it came RIGHT after she jumped off the rowing machine and the clock ran out. She couldn’t breathe and her hand was bleeding and - boom - there he was, down on one knee!

She said she was so pumped about just getting engaged that she completely forgot to enter her score on the CrossFit Games website!!!

UPDATE: Ashly and Andrew are now happily married!!! Congratulations!!! They also completed their first couples competition last fall! Good Luck to you both in the CrossFit Games Open 2019!
